At Leigh-on-Mendip School, we take online safety (e-safety) very seriously. While we have robust policies, filtering systems and procedures in place to protect pupils during school hours, we also recognise the importance of supporting parents and carers in keeping children safe at home and beyond the classroom.
The internet is a fantastic learning tool, but it can also present risks. We encourage all families to stay informed and proactive when it comes to their child’s online activity.
Here are two excellent resources to help guide you:
CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) – Advice, support, and reporting tools for parents and carers
ThinkUKnow – Age-appropriate guidance and interactive content for children and young people
These websites offer practical advice on how to manage online safety, talk to children about digital responsibility, and respond to any concerns.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s online safety, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
For specific e-safety matters, you can speak directly to:
Paula Branco or Gemma Smith – DSL/DDSL
Catherine Farmer – Chair of Governors
We are here to help ensure that every child at our school is safe, both online and offline.
